Today Brackley took on Yeovil. Brackley in 18th position and Yeovil at 15th at the start if the match. Yeovil broght with them a large and very vocal following.

Vocal and strong Yeovil away end, St James Park

Brackley got off to a great start with a penetrating run close into the Yeovil box on the right hsnd side which resulted in them in going

one nil up in the fourth minute. Shane Bryne being the opening goal scorer. The intensive prliminary clapping from the Yeovil end fell silent as their team tried to recover from the shock start. A Yeovil drummer started up and in the 11th min Yeovil equalised with a successful diving header from Karl Ferguson. The equaliser reserected Yeovil’s supporters vocality as they started to look more and more dangerous on the pitch

In the 17th min, a Brackley striker broke free and had a free run at goal with only the Yeovil keeper to beat. However the Brackley shot was defected away by the keeper’s left foot, as Yeovil breathed a sigh of relief. The second quarter of the first half was all about the battle for supremacy and which side could turn the match into a leading position. In the 23rd, a Yeovil playing running on the right wing went flying into the air following a tackle and Brackley were issued with their first yellow card. A Brackley right hand corner came in the 25th but it was easily dealt with as Yeovil launched another counter attack run on the right and got a long shot kick at goal which went straight into the keeper’s hands. The struggle for domination battle continued into the third quarter and in the 28th min, a long cross from the right corner hit the head of a brackley striker which could have easily gone in but didn’t. In the 35th min Yeovil got a corner followed by a second, both of which failed from producing anything. As the match moved towards the blowing of the half time whistle, both sides looked like they could do with the break in order to contemplate on how best to break the 1-1 stalemate. In the 43rd as the sun started to shine more after coming out from the pre- match down pour. A left hand corner kick connected with a Brackley head, and Brackley were back in the lead and in a great position to re-start from.

Brackley started the second half where they had left off with a convincing long shot on goal following a run down the left hand side in the fourth minute. To try and help getting back into the match, Yeovil started substituting in the first quarter and in the 55th min had a penetrating run into the Bravkley box which could have created something had the referee not blown his whistle, Yeovil kept trying to turn the screws more and get the equaliser while Brackley defended well to consolidate their position and push the ball up more to try and create a killer third goal. In the 59th Brackley brought on a substitute of their own in a tit for tat attempt to try and kerp things as they were or make them even better. The Yeovil drummer started up again in the second quarter of the second half to try and inspire a turn a round of how things were going for them on the pitch. As the match moved towards the final quarter, it felt like everything had been decided and only an immense step up in Yeovil play or pressure could change things. From a fan persoective, the

Brackley end started to open up and get more vocal as they started to smell victory. Yeovil were playing safe with cautious passing maintaining posession football with Brackley sometimes managing to rob the ball from them and create more opportunities to extend their lead. From the 70 th min Brackley started to use more of an attack to defend tactic and a Brackley third killer goal started to look more likely than a second Yeovil equaliser.

In the closing stages of the match,

Brackley appeared to be playing a domination by waiting for the passing of time tactic which worked with them managing to win 2-1. Brackley have mow moved up to 16th behind Yeovil still at 15th, There is still quite a gap between the two sides of six points.
