Two big nearing end season matches were on today. In League Two, Mk Dons played second place Stockport in a match which if they won would have put them in an automatic promotion place. A similar situation existed with Brackley who have won all their recent end of season matches up
today. A defeat of 5th placed Alfreton would move them one step closer to highly sought after automatic promotion too. For the Dons the day was a disaster as they went down 5-0 to Stockport County but for Brackley it was a different story.

Five mins in Brackley took the lead with a chant from the home supporters 'we are on our way to the national league. How we get there we don't care' . With the one nil lead, Brackley dominated most of the first with more chances on goal which started to diminish as play moved closer to half time. Morgan Roberts looked the most consistent of Brackley's players creating chances and who became heavily marked by Alfreton defenders in an attempt to neutralise him. The second half was pretty much the same as the first other than Brackley stepped up their game to dominate more and get more chances on goal but not enough to kill the match off with a second. However one was enough to give them three points and a third place in the league. The next match against Tamworth on Monday April 1st looks to be a cracker with a match which should exceed today's attendance of 891.
