GMK News report tonight from the Oxford Union 3rd week Hiliary Debate- This House Regrets The Death of God.

Is the the Union pro or anti Trump? The mood was tested and monitored during the pre emergency tariff debate which was defeated by a no cry sending a message of rejection to Donald Trump and his controversial tariff imposition policy, which has blighted the start of his second presidential term.
The for side introduced its speakers with a strong opening dig at Nietzsche and his mid 19th century philosophy which declares God is dead. Incidentally, Nietzsche has been historically adopted by the far right and has associations with nazism, social Darwinism and the concept of insects killing each other in a jam jar. A powerful main for speech was delivered by Dr Yarif Qadhi, an Islamic theologian who attacked the moral decay and rise of grotesque indecency, such as the rise of pornography by the world’s rejection of god. A society based on Jesus Christ is far more satisfactory and happier than one based on Nietzsche, another for speaker added. Beatrix Himmelmann, an ethics philosopher added by saying we can neither prove or disapprove god’s existence. However, if we assume god to be true without him or her we would digress into cruel and inhumane beings. Dr Sean Carrol, a theoretical physicist, told the Union he was an atheist and said very little else to counter the for case. At the end of his rambling speech which seemed to lack substance, he ended by saying. ‘ The universe is tough to understand. The question is not about do you have faith in god but do you have faith in people? We should not regret the death of God, were his closing words.
