Leighton end to end clash with Kidlington leads to a 1- 0 home victory

Two places below but with two games in hand, Leighton did battle with Kidlington today. Despite in excess of 50 very vocal Kidlington away fans. Leighton got off to a good start dominating the first 10 mins with several runs and shots on goal. Kidlington started to look more dangerous as the first half progressed with some counter runs and shots. In particular, one long shot bouncing off the cross bar. A few mins later, Leighton retaliated with a goal mouth scramble shot hitting the left post. End to end play continued with neither side able to establish a lead by half time. Below Kidlington head coach, Ben Sadler was looking more from his side in the second half where the end to play continued with a fight breaking out amongst the players, ten mins into the second half. Following on from this Kidlington stepped up the pressure with more shots on goal in reply to continued vocal support from their fans who had swapped ends in anticipation of an expected goal to come. As the match moved into the final quarter, the end to match got uglier as a Kidlington player hit the ground for a several mins following a foul and no follow up yellow card from the referee.


The match went from bad to worse for Kidlington when Leighton scored the 1-0 winner five mins from full time.
