After a disappointing start to 2026 losing 1-0 away to Colchester, MK faced another top end home match with Chesterfield.

Chesterield got the first opening shot of the mqtch in the second minute. MkFC got a free kick outside the Cheltenham penalty box followed by anoher but nothing came of them. By the end of the first quarter there was really nothing to talk about other than a dull, uneventful start to the match.
