One of the most local interesting matches today was Chesham Utd V Yeovil, who play in the fourth round of the FA cup along with Brackley away to Hartlepool. GMK news followed the progress of these matches from the Spartan Division one league match against Long Buckby. Cranfield were progressing well in this league placed six with Buckby five points lower mid table. Promotion if achieved this season would put Cranfield FC into the Spartan Premier league where MK Irish have dropped from top spot to second. Cranfield got off to a good start with more of the match in the first five mins and a few shots on goal. However, things quickly deflated in the 8th min, when the Cranfield defence took their eyes of the ball in a counter attack resulting in a Buckby striker running free and a mock in the Cranfield penalty area with the ball easily hitting the back of the Cranfield net and giving Long Bucky, an early one nil lead.

By the time the match reached the 25th min, MK Dons had just gone one nil up home to Port Vale in League Two while at Crawley Road,
the match turned into a bit of a dog fight with end to end play and tit for tat shots on goal by both sides. However, in min 35, another Cranfield defensive error led to Buckby extending their early lead to two nil. In the second half, Cranfield tried to get back into the match. At MK Stadium, hopes that the Dons ascendency up league two with its change of ownership and subsequent change of manager were dashed by full time. The referee at MK Stadium disallowed two Dons goals resulting in a 1-nil defeat rather than a 1-0 win. Chesham Utd beat Yeovil 1-0 and progress further in the FA cup while Brackley face a home replay after drawing 1-1 at Hartlepool.
