Brackley take on top of the League Chorley in Big Battle for Promotion

Tonight Mk News go back to Brackley Town expecting more than what happened in their 3-1 home defeat to Kings Lynn this Saturday. Chorley are in higher place third at the top of the league and like Brackley seek promotion glory. However, Morhan Roberts was having nothing of it putting Town one nil up on the 7th minute stamping Brackley's authority on the match right from the start. The early lead soon had the Brackley fans chanting a chorus of when the saints go marching in as Chorley tried to retaliate with some runs into the Brackley penalty area but with no real worrying shots in the first half hour. Close to the half time whistle Brackley kept the pressure on with a run into the Chorley end and a strike on goal which nearly put them two nil up. Brackley need to hit the top two positions in order to stand any chance of going up. A better performance from Brackley continued into the second half as the match became more equally balenced. Five mins before full time Brackley got a strike on goal which hit the post and nearly killed the game off for good. More end to end stuff followed and with a Chorley equaliser never really looking possible, Brackley finally took the match one nil showing themselves to be the best contender of the two teams for the promotion place.
