Easter Monday looked set to deliver a match of the season delight as David, Brackley takes on Goliath, top of the league Tamworth for a possible end of season promotion place if they could pull off a win today. Allowing Brackley fans into the packed away end was prohibited today shown in the below pics.

Brackley went into the match with a disappointing 1-1 draw to bottom of the league Gloucester in their previous match, dropping a vital 2 points necessary for the sought after promotion place. Beating Tamworth offered them a chance of redemption for the result and proving to the world once and for all, they are a National Conference/potential higher league side. Brackley got off to a spectacular start with Morgan Roberts putting Brackley one nil up after two mins. The away end kept vocal unti the 12 th min when no. 2, George Carline made it 2-0 silencing the lambs and with chants from the home end of 'can we play you every week' . Brackley continued to hold most of the possession into the third quarter of the first half successfully consolidating their early lead. Five mins before half time, Brackley's no. 9 missed a sitter to make it 3-0 with Tamworth missing a subsequent two free kicks awarded close to the Brackley goal end. Two Tamworth corners followed increasing the retaliatory pressure with an excellent Brackley goalkeeper save on the line making the referee look twice to consider whether it had gone in or not. Despite the Tamworth step up in play, Brackley continued to create more chances leaving them with a well earnt lead and clean sheet as the ref blew the whistle for half time. Things got even better at the start of the second half with Zac Lee making it 3-0 in the 50th minute. Things went dangerous for Brackley ball hit the crossbar after a Brackley save in the second quarter of the second half but quickly countered with a menacing counter attack into the Tamworth half. Tamworth maybe ' say we are runaway top of the league' but as the match reached conclusion and as Brackley maintained their runaway lead, ' you are having a laugh' seemed more accurate as to Tamworth's end of season complacent match perfo. In the 69th min, Tamworth made the first substitution to try and step up their game while Brackley took off Morgan Roberts to save his legs for the next important end of season clash. Neither substitutions plus an additional Tamworth one seemed to impact on the match as Brackley continued to hold onto their clean sheet right up to the full time whistle. A well deserved three points from a significantly attended match of 1731 with 748 coming from Tamworth.
