Badenoch said, the Conservatives had a tough election in 2024, but the Tory Party is coming back. We are going to take back our streets, recruit 10,000 more police officers to end the scurge of shop lifiting from our local shops. We don't just blurt out slogans, we need to let people know we have a new leader and that with her things are going to change for the better'.
Councillor Shazna Muzammil, leader of the MK Conservatives then laid down what the new 'fix the basics' manifesto was going to be about. 'The council offices are an unfriendly alien place, you are greeted there behind screens. We are going to change all of that'. Everything unique in MK is under threat, green space, our homes'. All 60 seats on the city council are up for grabs. We have never won total control of the council but we have kept it to account, year after year'. After years of Labour and Liberal Democrat control, Milton Keynes deserves a fresh and more responsible approach'.
The meeting ended with members having their own individual photographs taken alongside Kemi Badenoch. The scramble was so frantic that one member sustained a bleeding head injury, bringing to a close a meeting that from up to that point was without any incident or concern.
